Oliver Glasner declared his Crystal Palace side have etched their names into the club’s history books after securing a remarkable 1-0 victory over Manchester City to win the FA Cup at Wembley.

The triumph marked the Eagles’ first major piece of silverware, with Eberechi Eze scoring the decisive goal in the first half. The Greenwich-born midfielder finished clinically from a Daniel Muñoz cross to seal a famous win.

Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson played a crucial role, denying Omar Marmoush from the penalty spot in the 36th minute after Tyrick Mitchell had brought down Bernardo Silva inside the area.

Despite registering just 21 per cent possession over the 90 minutes, Glasner’s men put in a resolute defensive performance, showing immense grit and determination to lift the coveted trophy.

“This connection stays forever,” said an emotional Glasner.

“The bond between the players and Crystal Palace will remain for life. I’m quite certain that if Jean-Philippe Mateta returns to Selhurst Park in 30 years, the fans will still celebrate him.

“The same applies to all the players. What they’ve achieved is monumental for the club.

“It was a huge motivation for us—we wanted to write history, and now we’ve written a big chapter in it.”

The victory also means Crystal Palace will embark on their maiden European campaign next season—an extraordinary achievement that Glasner is already eyeing as the next chapter in the club’s evolution.

“We will begin a new chapter next year, playing in Europe for the first time,” he added.
