Among the five ring girls present at Friday’s boxing match between Mike Tyson and the eventual victor, Jake Paul, one has emerged in the spotlight, capturing significant attention from fans.

Sydney Thomas, 20, shared her astonishment on TikTok upon discovering her newfound fame the morning after the highly anticipated fight, held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

"Waking up to see I’m trending for the Tyson v. Paul fight," her TikTok video caption read. She added in her post: “I’m happy you guys enjoyed the broadcast!”

On Instagram, where her following has now surpassed 554,000, Thomas shared various photos and videos celebrating the moment.

"Having the chance to step into the ring with @MikeTyson and @JakePaul for such a historic event is beyond anything I ever dreamed of,” she wrote. “Words cannot describe this moment or how grateful I am to have been part of such an incredible team at @MostValuablePromotions."

She continued: "History was made, and I’m truly honoured to have been a part of it."

The match saw Jake Paul, 27, secure victory against 58-year-old Mike Tyson in a unanimous decision after eight rounds.

While Dan Bilicki of The Sun noted that the main event failed to live up to expectations, the co-main event, featuring Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor, proved to be an electrifying contest. Described as potentially the greatest women’s fight in history, the match ended with Taylor narrowly defeating Serrano in a closely contested 95-94 unanimous decision, though the outcome drew boos from the crowd.

On Saturday, Netflix announced on X (formerly Twitter) that 60 million households worldwide had tuned in to watch the Paul vs. Tyson fight. “The boxing mega-event dominated social media, shattered records, and even had our buffering systems on the ropes,” the streaming platform stated.

Thomas, a student at the University of Alabama, also shared glimpses of her fellow ring girls—Delia Sylvain, Virginia Sanhouse, Raphaela Milagres, and Lexi Williams—showcasing their coordinated black-and-red outfits.

On Saturday, she took to her Instagram stories to express her gratitude: “I woke up to an overwhelming amount of love and support from all of you. I can’t thank you guys enough or begin to express how grateful I am. I love you all—thank you for your kind words.”

Fans showered her social media posts with compliments. One commenter quipped, "Let’s be honest here, you ladies gave a better showing than the main event." Another wrote, "The only knockout in this fight." A third joked, "Tyson only lost because he was distracted by the ring girls."

Sydney Thomas’s breakout moment has made her one of the standout figures of an unforgettable evening in boxing history.
