Arsenal have confirmed that Meadow Park will host their upcoming UEFA Women's Champions League match against Bayern Munich due to a scheduling conflict with the men's team.

The club faced criticism earlier this month after announcing that the group stage fixture on 18 December would be moved from the Emirates Stadium. This decision was made to accommodate the men's Carabao Cup quarter-final tie against Crystal Palace, scheduled for the same evening.

Following extensive discussions with UEFA, Arsenal have been granted special permission to hold the match at Meadow Park, the team’s former home ground. The decision was attributed to a unique combination of scheduling factors.

Supporters who had already purchased tickets for the match at the Emirates will automatically receive full refunds. Additionally, they will be given a 24-hour priority window, starting at 14:00 GMT on 26 November, to purchase tickets for the new venue on a first-come, first-served basis.

As a gesture of goodwill, the club has offered fans a complimentary ticket to a future Women's Super League (WSL) match at the Emirates this season or a £20 retail voucher redeemable at The Armoury or on Arsenal Direct.

In an official statement, Arsenal expressed their gratitude to their supporter groups for providing valuable feedback, which influenced the discussions with UEFA. They also thanked UEFA for their cooperation in reaching a practical solution.

Interim head coach Renee Slegers previously described the situation as a “difficult dilemma” and a “setback” for the club’s broader women’s football strategy. Arsenal had announced ahead of the 2024/25 WSL season that the Emirates Stadium would become the primary home for their women’s team, hosting at least eight WSL matches and a minimum of three Champions League fixtures.

The relocation to Meadow Park is seen as a temporary adjustment to an otherwise ambitious strategy for women's football at Arsenal.
