Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has returned to full training just in time for their Champions League encounter with Inter Milan on Wednesday evening. Despite this boost, Arsenal are still contending with a few ongoing injury issues affecting key players.
Odegaard Returns to Boost Arsenal, but Calafiori Still Out Ahead of Inter Showdown
Arsenal Injury Update Ahead of Champions League Tie Against Inter
Odegaard is now back in full training with Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad, the club has confirmed. The 25-year-old midfielder suffered an ankle injury during Norway’s international matches in September and has since been sidelined, missing the past 12 fixtures in Arsenal’s schedule.
Having rejoined training on Tuesday, Odegaard may be part of the travelling squad for the San Siro clash. However, his readiness for game action remains uncertain, and any involvement is likely to be carefully managed by Arteta.
Bukayo Saka, meanwhile, is expected to be fully available after his recent injury concerns. The England international completed a full 90 minutes in Arsenal’s narrow 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday, showing signs of regaining fitness.
Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori, however, remains unavailable after sustaining a knee injury in Arsenal’s recent Champions League win over Shakhtar Donetsk. Calafiori is expected to make his return after the upcoming international break.
Elsewhere in the squad, former Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu continues to recover from a knee injury, ruling him out of this week's Champions League tie. Additionally, left-back Kieran Tierney is not anticipated to feature in the line-up against Inter.
