LABOUR PARTY CRISIS DEEPENS AS YOUTH LEADERS DISOWN ABURE AND AHANOTU

The Labour Party’s internal crisis continues as the Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties has publicly disowned Julius Abure and Kennedy Ahanotu as the party’s national chairman and youth leader, respectively. Meanwhile, in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched a campaign committee to back its chairman candidate, Hon. Dare Alebiosu, ahead of the November 16 council elections.

In economic news, Nigeria’s Minister of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, revealed at the Creative Africa Nexus Weekend (CANEX WKND) 2024 in Algiers that Nigeria loses a staggering $3 billion annually due to Ankara fabric imports. Despite the cultural richness of African fabrics like Adire, Kente, and Bogolan, nearly 90% of Ankara used on the continent is produced overseas.
