Trump marks 100 days with Michigan rally, touts bold policies, tariffs, immigration crackdowns, and U.S. expansionist ideas.
Trump Marks First 100 Days in Office with Michigan Rally and Bold Policy Agenda

President Donald Trump is holding a rally in Michigan on Tuesday to mark the first 100 days of his second term, staging his largest public event since returning to the White House in a state that has been especially affected by his steep trade tariffs and combative attitude toward Canada.
Trump is making an afternoon visit to Selfridge Air National Guard Base for an announcement alongside Democratic Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. He is expected to speak at a rally at Macomb Community College, north of Detroit, allowing him to celebrate his effort to upend government and social, political, and foreign policy norms.
His Republican administration’s strict immigration policies have led to a sharp drop in arrests for illegal crossings along the U.S.-Mexico border, and government-slashing initiatives led by billionaire adviser Elon Musk have significantly disrupted Washington. The administration’s protectionist import taxes on America’s trade partners aim to reshape the global economy, one that the U.S. had worked to build and support in the decades following World War II.
Trump has also advocated for aggressive U.S. expansionism, declining to rule out military intervention in Greenland and Panama, suggesting American developers could transform the war-torn Gaza Strip into a resort area, and even proposing the annexation of Canada.
