Former Parma midfielder Jorge Bolaño has tragically passed away at the age of 47 from a cardiac arrest in Colombia.

Bolaño, who had an illustrious career in Serie A, sadly died on Sunday after suffering a sudden heart attack while attending a family member's birthday celebration, according to reports from Gazzetta and various Italian media outlets.
Born on 28 April 1997 in Santa Marta, Colombia, Bolaño was part of Parma’s squad that won the Supercoppa Italiana and Coppa Italia. His playing career also saw him at Modena, Lecce, and Sampdoria between 1999 and 2009.
The former midfielder made 102 appearances in Serie A and 53 in Serie B, netting two goals during his time in Italy’s second division.
Parma Calcio paid tribute to their former player on social media, stating: "Today, the entire Parma Calcio family extends its condolences to the family of Jorge Bolaño, who has passed away at the age of 47, leaving behind an irreplaceable void. Farewell, Jorge. Forever Gialloblu."
Before his time in Italy, Bolaño began his career at Junior de Barranquilla, where he won the Colombian league title in 1993 and 1995, playing alongside stars like Carlos Valderrama and Iván René Valenciano.
He earned 36 caps for the Colombia national team, scoring once, and was part of the squad for the 1998 World Cup.
