The #Take-It-Back protest in Port Harcourt escalated when police used tear gas to disperse demonstrators who refused orders to leave and continued marching toward Aba Express Road.
Police Fire Tear Gas as Take-It-Back Protesters Flee in Rivers

The #Take-It-Back protest took an intense turn when officers from the Rivers State Command deployed tear gas in an attempt to disperse the demonstrators. Organizers and supporters of the Take It Back Movement, along with members of Civil Society Organizations and the Niger Delta Congress, had gathered at Isaac Boro Park in Port Harcourt, only to encounter resistance from the Rivers State Police Command.
The police officers instructed the protesters to relocate to another venue. Despite this, the protesters remained resolute, continuing to sing solidarity songs and march within the park. They then proceeded toward the Aba Express Road, determined to continue their demonstration.
Upon reaching the CFC junction, the protesters were once again intercepted by armed anti-riot police officers, who ordered them to vacate the street. In defiance of the order, the protesters continued their march, prompting the police to immediately fire tear gas canisters. This caused the various groups involved in the protest to scatter in search of safety.
