Inter Miami CF have announced the re-signing of Argentine goalkeeper Óscar Ustari, who has extended his contract with the club through the 2025 season.
Inter Miami Re-sign Goalkeeper Óscar Ustari
The 38-year-old joined Inter Miami during the closing stages of the 2024 campaign, making one start as the team secured the Supporters' Shield and set a new MLS single-season points record.
Ustari provides head coach Javier Mascherano with another experienced goalkeeping option, complementing US international Drake Callender in the squad.
“We are delighted to have an experienced goalkeeper like Óscar Ustari returning for another season, further strengthening our goalkeeping unit,” said Raúl Sanllehí, Inter Miami’s president of football operations. “His experience and leadership were invaluable in the dressing room during the final months of the 2024 season and will continue to be an asset for our club as we strive to achieve our objectives in 2025.”
Ustari originally joined Inter Miami in September 2024, bringing with him a wealth of professional experience, having played nearly 400 matches for clubs across Mexico (Pachuca and Atlas), Spain (Getafe and Almería), England (Sunderland), and Argentina (Independiente, Boca Juniors, Newell's Old Boys), among others.
On the international stage, Ustari has represented Argentina alongside Lionel Messi, featuring in tournaments such as the 2008 Summer Olympics, the 2006 FIFA World Cup, and the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship. He has earned two senior caps for La Albiceleste.
Inter Miami’s 2025 campaign kicks off with a Concacaf Champions Cup match against Sporting Kansas City on 18 February. Their MLS season opener follows on 22 February, when they face New York City FC at 2:30 pm ET, available on MLS Season Pass.
