Brentford manager Thomas Frank has claimed that Chelsea could be the "best team in the Premier League at the moment" as his side prepare for a west London derby against them this weekend.

Chelsea have been in impressive form, winning their last four Premier League matches and currently sitting in second place ahead of Sunday’s clash with Brentford.

When evaluating Chelsea’s performance, Frank remarked: “They are perhaps even more in form than Liverpool, even though Liverpool are top of the league.

“They are playing exceptional football and are extremely well-coached. Maresca has done an outstanding job so far with his coaching team, and they look incredibly dangerous.”

Chelsea endured a challenging period following the takeover by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital in May 2022, despite significant investment in the squad. However, under Maresca—Chelsea’s fourth permanent manager since the takeover—the club has enjoyed a resurgence this season.

“[Chelsea] possess numerous attacking threats and have top-quality players across the pitch. I am anticipating an incredibly difficult match,” Frank added.

“They are clear favourites, but we firmly believe we can compete with anyone and are confident in our ability to win.”
