Paul Pogba has officially parted ways with Juventus, as both the French midfielder and the club confirmed their mutual decision to terminate his contract. This resolution paves the way for the former Manchester United player to seek a new club.

As previously reported by Mail Sport, Pogba and the Italian club had been in discussions for some time regarding the termination of his contract.

With this agreement now finalised, Pogba will begin his search for a new team in preparation for his return to professional football next year. Clubs across Europe, the Middle East, and Major League Soccer (MLS) are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of the 31-year-old.

The World Cup winner recently had his four-year suspension for doping reduced to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). This decision, announced in October, determined that Pogba had inadvertently consumed the banned substance DHEA, which is known to enhance testosterone levels.

In a heartfelt statement on Instagram, Pogba addressed Juventus supporters:

‘Sometimes things don’t unfold as we wish, but one thing is certain: the bond I share with you, dear fans, will remain unforgettable. You have given me so much, more than words can express, and I will always cherish the love and support you’ve shown me. You’ll always have a place in my heart. Good luck, Juventus.’

Juventus also issued a statement, saying:

‘Juventus Football Club and Paul Pogba have reached a mutual agreement to terminate his contract as of 30 November 2024. The club extends its best wishes to Paul for his future endeavours.’

Pogba’s original suspension, which began on 11 September 2023, had been set to last until September 2027. However, following the CAS ruling, the ban was shortened to March 2025. This allows Pogba to return to training in January 2025. Additionally, the €5,000 fine initially imposed on him has been set aside.

Had the CAS upheld the original four-year ban, Pogba’s career may have come to a premature end. Instead, the midfielder is now focused on resuming his career, with plans already underway for his football comeback.
