At least five individuals lost their lives, and 22 others sustained injuries during a terrorist attack on the premises of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI).

Mali, Senegal, Somalia, Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo have jointly condemned a "heinous" terrorist attack that occurred on Wednesday at a defense industry facility in Türkiye’s capital, Ankara.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic Republic of Congo expressed strong condemnation of the attack. "The Democratic Republic of Congo condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attack that occurred in Ankara. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims, and we wish a speedy recovery to the injured," the ministry stated. It also reaffirmed its solidarity with Türkiye and its unwavering commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms.

Col. Assimi Goita, the president of Mali’s transitional government, also condemned the attack, stating, "We strongly condemn the terrorist attack on the headquarters of Turkish Aerospace Industries in Ankara." He expressed "total solidarity" with Türkiye, recognizing it as a "strategic partner of Mali in terms of defense," and extended his condolences to the families of the victims.

According to Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, at least five people were killed and 22 were injured in the attack on Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI). The minister reported that the terrorists involved in the assault were "neutralized."

Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, head of Sudan's Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, conveyed a condolence message to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Turkish people. "I extend to you, on behalf of the people and government of Sudan, my deepest condolences for the victims of the terrorist attack, which resulted in a number of casualties and injuries," Al-Burhan stated.

Senegal’s President Bassirou Diomaye Faye characterized the attack as "cowardly." He stated, "I strongly condemn the terrorist attack in Türkiye. It is a cowardly and barbaric act. On behalf of the Senegalese people, I express our compassion and solidarity to (Turkish) President (Recep Tayyip) Erdogan, the families of the victims, and the friendly Turkish people." He concluded with a wish for peace for the departed souls and a speedy recovery for the injured.

Somalia condemned the incident, labeling it a "heinous" terrorist attack. The Somali Foreign Ministry stated, "This cowardly act is not just an attack on Türkiye, but a threat to global peace and security. Somalia, having faced similar challenges, empathizes with Türkiye." The ministry praised the rapid response of Turkish security forces and expressed confidence that those responsible would be brought to justice. It extended condolences to the affected families and reiterated its solidarity with the Turkish people and government.

"Somalia remains committed to standing with Türkiye and the international community in the fight against terrorism, with a partnership grounded in shared values and mutual trust," the ministry asserted, urging the international community to enhance cooperation against terrorism. "Together, we can ensure that such acts do not weaken our resolve to protect our people and uphold peace," it concluded.
