Raphinha delivered a spectacular hat-trick as Barcelona crushed fellow European giants Bayern Munich 4-1 in the Champions League.

The Brazilian international opened the scoring within the first minute, before former Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski restored Barça’s lead after Harry Kane had equalised for the visitors.

Captain Raphinha added a second with a superbly curled effort, and completed his treble with another stunning finish as the La Liga leaders sent a strong message ahead of their highly anticipated clash with rivals Real Madrid on Saturday.

Erling Haaland continued his extraordinary Champions League goal-scoring record with two more goals as Manchester City cruised to a 5-0 victory over Sparta Prague.

Phil Foden, John Stones, and Matheus Nunes also found the net, as City set a new record for the most consecutive unbeaten matches in the competition, surpassing the previous streak held by Manchester United, in a dominant display at the Etihad Stadium.

Darwin Núñez’s first-half goal secured Liverpool a 1-0 win against RB Leipzig, extending the superb start under new manager Arne Slot.

Slot’s team set two new club records during the match – becoming the first Liverpool side to win their first six away matches in a season, and the first to secure victory in 11 of their opening 12 fixtures.

Substitute Marcus Thuram scored deep into stoppage time as Inter Milan grabbed a dramatic 1-0 win over Young Boys.

The reigning Italian champions appeared set for a frustrating draw at the Wankdorf Stadium, until Thuram met Federico Dimarco’s cross in the third minute of added time to break Young Boys’ hearts.

Celtic responded impressively to their heavy defeat against Borussia Dortmund by holding Atalanta to a goalless draw in Italy.

Brendan Rodgers’ side bounced back from their 7-1 loss in Germany by keeping their first Champions League clean sheet in seven years, leaving them on four points from three matches after facing their toughest two away fixtures on paper in the eight-game league stage.

Pierre Lees-Melou marked his Champions League debut in style, scoring the equaliser in Brest’s 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen at Stade de Roudourou.

The visitors took the lead in the 24th minute through Florian Wirtz, but Lees-Melou levelled the contest with a brilliant volley.

Elsewhere, substitute Jonathan David scored twice as Lille came from behind to secure a 3-1 victory at Atletico Madrid, while 19-year-old Antoni Milambo netted a brace in Feyenoord’s 3-1 triumph over Benfica in Lisbon.

In the night’s other match, Dinamo Zagreb secured a 2-0 win over 10-man RB Salzburg.
