Michael Olise played a pivotal role in four goals as Bayern Munich overwhelmed Werder Bremen with a 5-0 victory in the Bundesliga on Saturday. Olise, who joined from Crystal Palace in the summer, scored twice and provided two assists, while Kane contributed with one goal and two assists. This emphatic win capped off a remarkable week for Bayern, who had previously triumphed 6-1 against newly promoted Holstein Kiel, followed by a 9-2 home victory over Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

Kane set up Olise’s opener in the 23rd minute, after which Olise turned provider, skillfully dribbling down the right before delivering a perfect pass for Jamal Musiala to score shortly afterwards.

Olise assisted Kane’s goal in the 57th minute, marking the England captain’s tenth goal for Bayern this season across all competitions.

Olise netted again, and Kane set up Serge Gnabry to round off the scoring against Bremen, whose only victory against Bayern since 2008 came this January in Munich.

Kane scored his first Bundesliga goal on his debut at Bremen in August last year and now has 41 league goals, more than any other English player.

“We have so much quality up front, and we are enjoying our football,” Musiala told Sky, adding, “but we will face tougher opponents.”

Bayern will host champions Bayer Leverkusen next Saturday.

Fellow top-four contenders Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, Stuttgart, and RB Leipzig will all play on Sunday, but Bayern are guaranteed to finish the weekend at the top of the table as the only team to have won all four of their opening league matches.

Two goals in the opening six minutes set Union Berlin on course for a 2-1 victory at home against Hoffenheim.

Tom Rothe and Jeong Woo-yeong scored early for the hosts, but a 67th-minute goal from former Union forward Marius Bülter set up a nervy finish in the German capital.

However, Union held firm to secure their second win of the season and maintain their unbeaten record, while Hoffenheim suffered their third consecutive league defeat.

Freiburg scored three second-half goals to clinch a 3-0 victory at Heidenheim, with Italian midfielder Vincenzo Grifo netting twice after Ritsu Doan had opened the scoring.

An 89th-minute goal from Shuto Machino earned Holstein Kiel a 2-2 draw at Bochum, providing the promoted side with their first points in the top division.

Kiel had taken the lead through a Benedikt Pichler goal after 15 minutes, but Matus Bero and Lukas Daschner both found the net to give Bochum a 2-1 advantage at half-time.

Later on Saturday, Eintracht Frankfurt will host Borussia Mönchengladbach.
