Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne is facing a race against time to be fit for the Premier League showdown with Arsenal this Sunday, after sustaining a suspected groin injury.

The Belgian midfielder was substituted at half-time during City's goalless draw with Inter Milan, sparking concerns that he could miss the crucial clash against title challengers Arsenal.

In his post-match interview, City manager Pep Guardiola expressed uncertainty regarding De Bruyne's condition, stating: "I don't know, I haven't spoken with the doctors yet. I will have more information when I do. We will assess him tomorrow."

Despite the draw, Guardiola praised his squad, saying: "We played very well, and I love my team. We are a fantastic side. But Inter are masters of defending, and they are also very strong in transitions. I'm really pleased with the performance. It's the beginning of the season, so the players will improve."

City defender Ruben Dias reflected on the team's early-season form and the result of the match: "The season has only just begun. When we returned from the international break, pre-season had just finished. It's still very early days, but we know what we are capable of as a team, and today I believe we performed at a very good level.

"We didn't manage to score, though we had the chances. That's football, and of course, there is room for improvement on our part.

"We knew they could be dangerous in many different ways. They have players who are excellent at keeping possession, and they can also be lethal in transitions.

"We know them very well, especially after the final we played against them. We were aware of the various ways they could hurt us, but in the end, we are who we are, we played our game, and we dealt with it."

Meanwhile, Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi, speaking after the final whistle, said: "I congratulated my players because they put in a tremendous performance. I asked them to play exactly as they did.

"We all know what City are capable of. We knew we had to give everything, play a great match, and we did that."
