Peter Frampton Regards Ozzy Osbourne as the 'Betty White' of Rock Music

Peter Frampton recently shared his excitement about his upcoming induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, drawing comparisons between Ozzy Osbourne and beloved actress Betty White in the process.

In a conversation with Rolling Stone following the announcement of his and Osbourne's inductions, Frampton expressed his admiration for the Prince of Darkness, likening him to White, a universally adored figure. He quipped, "The man is the Betty White of rock & roll." Frampton also expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of performing Osbourne's iconic track 'Crazy Train' together.

Reflecting on his own induction, Frampton admitted to being surprised by the honor, recalling a similar feeling when he won his first Grammy. He attributed his success to persistence and dedication, emphasizing his continual work and commitment to his craft.

Discussing the diversity of inductees, Frampton suggested renaming the institution to the "Music Hall of Fame," acknowledging the deserving contributions of R&B and rap artists like Mary J. Blige and A Tribe Called Quest.

Addressing Cher's previous reluctance to attend the ceremony after being snubbed in the past, Frampton encouraged her to embrace the moment, assuring her of her well-deserved recognition.

The 2024 induction class includes Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, and Kool & The Gang, among others. Additionally, Jimmy Buffett, MC5, Dionne Warwick, and Norman Whitfield will be honored in the Musical Excellence category, while Alexis Korner, John Mayall, and Big Mama Thornton will receive the Musical Influence Award. Entertainment producer Suzanne de Passe will be presented with the Ahmet Ertegun Award.

The induction ceremony is set to take place in Cleveland on October 19th.
