Amount of money Kaizer need to be payed after contract termination

South African side Kaizer Chiefs mutually terminated Harambee Stars midfielder's one year contract after he fell out of favour in most parts of last season. Tedy Akumu as he is well known in the country joined South African side in 2020 and signed a three years contract from Zesco United of Zambia. The Kenyan had remained with one full year on his contract but the side opted to end his stay yesterday evening. Okumu was earning over R80,000 monthly at Kaizer Chiefs.

When we calculate the amount of money he was supposed to pocket in the remaining one year,it means the Kenyan midfielder was set to earn over R960,000.That amount converted to Kenyan shillings means he was to earn in excess of 3 million shillings. In the case where a player signs a contract with a club,if the club decides to terminate his contract, they are supposed to pay the full amount of money. A good example is when Arsenal decided to terminate their star striker Pierre Emerik Aubameyang contract in January, they had to pay him £8 million as salary for the remaining years on his contract.

With the Kenyan, the case is not different from any other professional player,Akumu will pocket his salary for the one year, then he will be free to negotiate with another club this transfer window. According to Mozzart sports updates, the experienced midfielder was on the radar of Tanzanian side Simba SC who are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. Akumu has enough experience in the CAF champions acquired during his stay with El Merrikh of Sudan,Zesco United of Zambia and Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa. Both clubs featured in the champions league during his stay.He has had an illustrious career as far as African club football is concerned.

If he manages to find a new club with a good deal,Akumu could become one of the most successful Harambee Stars midfielders in recent times. His main achievements is when he helped Kenya to lift the CECAFA senior challenges cup in 2012.He was among the players who went to camp in France during the African cup of nations preparation 2019.He was however axed from the squad. At 29 years of age,we can deduce that the well composed midfielder has achieved great heights as far as his footballing career is concerned. We wish him all the best as he looks for a new home.
