The Collapse of the apartment building has left Families devastated and disheartened as Officials continue to attempt rescue and recovery

Search teams and cadaver dogs arrived at the site of the collapsed building and entered the building and Police say two people who were previously unaccounted for have now thankfully been found safe but three others remain missing and plans to demolish the building are now on hold. Officials say repair work had begun just days before the Building collapsed.

The permit to start the repair work was issued originally with a passing mark on it. When that permit was moved from ‘passed’ to ‘incomplete’ and they have a system that subsequently indicated ‘inspection failed’ which still meant incomplete. As officials grapple with how to proceed families of the missing are waiting in absolute agony including Brandon Colvin Jr. who has been sleeping on the pavement outside the building where his Father may be trapped under the rubble and he is desperate for rescuers to find his Father.

Yet, there is a risk that the rest of the building could come crashing down at any moment. The 18-year-old will be getting ready for his High-school graduation this Saturday and he says he cannot pull himself away from the scene despite the better efforts of by-standers to appeal to the teenager and also console him. The families of the other 3 missing individuals are also present at the scene and are doing their best to assist in the rescue and recovery process.

The trauma-struck Families have not given up hope however, and continue to urge officials to keep searching even as the building is showing signs of further instability which could prove even more catastrophic amid the amount of activity and movement on its surroundings and rescue teams are doing their utmost to reach possible survivors or recover corpses from the debris.
