The South African Comedian And Presenter Announced That He Will Be Stepping Down To: "Pursue Other Projects".

The American television network Comedy Central has announced that The Daily Show host Trevor Noah will be stepping down, after seven years hosting the satirical news show previously hosted by Jon Stewart.

The controversial South African comedian and presenter turned natualized American citizen commented that: "I'm filled with gratitude for the journey I and everyone shared as host of The Daily Show here on Comedy Central, but I feel it's now time for me to pursue other projects.

My time is up, but in the most beautiful way.

I loved hosting this show, it's been one of my greatest challenges, it's been one of my greatest joys, but after seven years I feel like it's time to go.

From Trump to Biden and from the Tide Pod Challange to the Covid-19 Pandemic, I've covered a lot of ground on The Daily Show as host.

I realized there's another part of my life that I want to carry on exploring, I miss learning other languages, I miss going to other countries and putting on shows, I miss just being everywhere and doing everything.

I'm really grateful to a network who believed in this random comedian nobody knew on this side of the world, I never dreamed that I would be here.

I sort of felt like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, when I was given a tour and all of a sudden was handed the keys from Jon Stewart.

All I can say is thank you very much".

The 38 year old has ruffled feathers for his woke virtue signaling, but has also made conservative friends due to not holding back in his attacks on fellow comedians Amy Schumer and Kathy Griffin.

Before coming to the US in 2011, Trevor Noah was a popular black comedian in his native South Africa, featuring on numerous ANC sponsored comedy specials and even hosting his own late night talk show before risking everything by starting a new comedy carrier in America.

Trevor Noah hasn't revealed what he meant by: "Pursue other projects", regardless of what his future entails, the live studio audience on his final episode clapped and cheered him on as he closed the set of The Daily Show With Trevor Noah one last time.
