Portable arrested in Ilorin over criminal defamation, threats, and incitement following a petition by fuji star Saheed Osupa.
Portable Arrested Over Defamation and Threats Following Osupa’s Petition





Controversial street-hop artist, Habeeb Okikilola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has been arrested by operatives of the Kwara State Police Command following a petition lodged by renowned fuji musician, Okunola Saheed, also known as Osupa.
In a statement issued by the spokesperson of the command, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, it was disclosed that the petition leveled multiple serious allegations against Portable. These include criminal defamation, threats to life, incitement, character assassination, conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace, as well as the use of abusive and offensive language.
"In light of the gravity of these allegations and the corroborating evidence provided, the command obtained a valid arrest warrant from a Magistrate Court sitting in Ilorin. Acting on this warrant, operatives of the command proceeded to Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Sunday, April 13, 2025, where the suspect was arrested at approximately 19:25 hours. He was immediately transported to Ilorin for further investigation,” the statement noted.
The statement further revealed that upon his arrival in Ilorin, Portable's statement was taken in the presence of legal representatives from both parties involved.
SP Ejire-Adeyemi confirmed that Portable remains in police custody, and expedited arrangements are currently being made to formally charge him in court.
