Donald Trump, 78, underwent a thorough medical exam at Walter Reed, claimed excellent health, and said results would be released soon.

Donald Trump, who holds the distinction of being the oldest person elected as US president, underwent his first annual medical examination since his return to the White House on Friday.

Earlier in the week, the president took to his Truth Social platform to share: "I have never felt better, but nevertheless, these things must be done!" Trump, who was 78 years old when he assumed office for the second time in January, emphasized his well-being in the post.

Since returning to office, Trump has consistently highlighted his energy and stamina, frequently using it as a contrast to criticize his predecessor, 82-year-old Joe Biden, whom he has portrayed as mentally unfit for the presidency.

Nonetheless, Trump has faced scrutiny in the past over what some have perceived as a lack of transparency concerning his own health.

Known for abstaining from alcohol and cigarettes, Trump is also a devoted golfer. However, he has also been known to indulge in fast food and is famous for preferring his steaks cooked well-done.

His examination took place at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, located just outside Washington, D.C., and lasted approximately five hours.

Following the check-up, Trump boarded a flight to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, where he planned to spend the weekend.

While speaking with reporters aboard the aircraft, Trump noted that he had spent "a long time" at Walter Reed and underwent "every test you can imagine."

He mentioned that the doctors had offered him "a little bit of advice" on how to further improve his health and proudly declared that he "got every answer right" on a cognitive assessment.

"Overall, I felt I was in very good shape," Trump stated. "A good heart, a good soul, a very good soul."

He concluded by saying that the full medical report from his examination would be released on Sunday.
