Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has pledged that his side will “find a solution” to their latest injury setback after star striker Erling Haaland was ruled out for up to seven weeks.
Pep Guardiola Vows to ‘Find a Solution’ to Erling Haaland Injury

Haaland was forced off during City's 2-1 win over Bournemouth in the FA Cup last weekend, having sustained an ankle injury following a challenge from Cherries midfielder Lewis Cook.
Although the full extent of the injury remains unclear, Guardiola confirmed that the club's medical team had informed him that the 24-year-old is expected to be sidelined for “between five and seven weeks”.
“Sometimes there are seasons when these kinds of things happen. It’s been a recurring issue this season,” Guardiola remarked at his pre-match press conference ahead of City's midweek fixture against Leicester City.
“We don’t have another player with his exact skills or specific qualities, we know that, but we must adapt.”
“We will find a solution with the players we have, each with their own skills and qualities. We will manage,” he added.
City are scheduled to face Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup semi-final in just under four weeks’ time, with a crucial Manchester derby coming up this weekend at Old Trafford.
January signing Omar Marmoush replaced Haaland against Bournemouth and scored the winning goal, and the Egyptian forward may be called upon to feature prominently in the absence of his Norwegian teammate.
However, Guardiola highlighted his team’s capacity to find alternative attacking solutions, stating, “For many years, we have played with different attacking methods, depending on the qualities of the players.”
“We need players with different qualities, and we must bring more players closer to the box,” he explained.
“Erling’s numbers have been exceptional once again, and he is a tremendous threat with long balls and his goalscoring instinct. But we must adjust.”
“I know which players possess a better goalscoring sense than others,” Guardiola continued. “Everyone knows these players, and we must get them closer to the box.”
City's first test without Haaland will be a home match against Leicester on Wednesday, 2 April, before they face Manchester United in the derby on Sunday.
