TAMPA, Fla. (14 February 2025) – Orlando City SC and Inter Miami CF played out a 2-2 draw at Raymond James Stadium on Friday night, bringing the Lions’ pre-season campaign to a close. The team will now turn their attention to the home opener, presented by Orlando Health, on Saturday, 22 February, when they host the Philadelphia Union.

City took the lead through a first-half goal from Martín Ojeda, before Ramiro Enrique restored their advantage in the second half. Ojeda also provided the assist for Enrique’s strike, registering two goal contributions on the night as the Lions gained momentum ahead of the 2025 season.

The Lions’ 2025 campaign will commence next Saturday, 22 February, when they welcome the Philadelphia Union to Inter&Co Stadium for the club’s home opener, presented by Orlando Health. The match will be broadcast on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV, with kick-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET in downtown Orlando.

Orlando opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a swift counter-attack led by Martín Ojeda. After surging up the middle of the pitch, Ojeda played the ball out wide to Angulo, who returned it with a precise give-and-go pass. Isolated against the Miami goalkeeper, Ojeda coolly chipped the ball into the far post to put the Lions ahead.

22’ Tadeo Allende (Luis Suárez) – ORL 1, MIA 1

Inter Miami equalised just seven minutes later as Luis Suárez and Tadeo Allende combined brilliantly. Allende played a short pass to Suárez outside the box before receiving a return ball, allowing him to guide his shot into the bottom left corner for the leveller.

54’ Ramiro Enrique (Martín Ojeda) – ORL 2, MIA 1

Orlando regained the lead early in the second half through Ramiro Enrique, with Ojeda once again involved. The Argentine capitalised on a misplaced touch from a Miami defender to regain possession before setting up Enrique, who calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net.

90’+3’ Fafà Picault – ORL 2, MIA 2

With seconds remaining in stoppage time, Inter Miami salvaged a draw through Fafà Picault. A blocked pass from Robert Taylor deflected off Orlando’s Collin Guske, landing at Picault’s feet. He made no mistake from close range, slotting home Miami’s second goal to deny the Lions victory.
