Attending the ceremony at the Saenger Theatre alongside his girlfriend, actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld, Allen also received the FedEx Air Player of the Year award and the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award.
"I know this is an individual award, and it says Most Valuable Player on it, but I believe it stems from team success, and I love my team," said Allen, who threw for 3,731 yards, 38 touchdowns, and six interceptions while also rushing for 531 yards and 12 touchdowns this season.
Other notable award recipients included Denver Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, and Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley.
"Before the season even started, I manifested this—having a great year, setting these expectations, reaching the playoffs, earning All-Pro honours, and winning Defensive Player of the Year," said Surtain, who secured his first Defensive Player of the Year award. "This is something I set as a goal.
"It's definitely a blessing, but I always remind myself, ‘There’s still more work to do.’ I look forward to achieving greater success in my career."
Burrow was named the Comeback Player of the Year.
"I wouldn’t say this is necessarily an award you want to be nominated for twice, but I’m proud of the work I’ve put in to recover from these injuries I seem to face every year, unfortunately," Burrow remarked.
Barkley was awarded the Offensive Player of the Year, while Los Angeles Rams linebacker Jared Verse claimed the Defensive Rookie of the Year title.
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels was named Offensive Rookie of the Year. He was also recognised for the NextGen Stats Moment of the Year.
Kevin O’Connell of the Minnesota Vikings was honoured as Coach of the Year, while former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, recently appointed as the Chicago Bears’ head coach, received the Assistant Coach of the Year award.
Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase was named the FedEx Ground Player of the Year, and Jacksonville Jaguars defensive lineman Arik Armstead was recognised as the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year.
