The top diplomat from Chad met with the Turkish ambassador to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation.

In their meeting on Thursday, Foreign Minister Abderaman Koulamallah and Turkish Ambassador Cem Utkan focused on areas including the economy, trade, agriculture, energy, and culture, according to a statement from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

They explored potential ways to boost bilateral trade by promoting Turkish investment in Chad.

Additionally, the two diplomats addressed the ongoing security concerns in the region and discussed possible avenues for collaboration on this front.

On behalf of Türkiye, Ambassador Utkan expressed condolences to Chad following a recent attack near the presidency in the capital, N'Djamena.

The presidency was targeted on January 8, resulting in a confrontation between security guards and the assailants. The attack led to the deaths of 18 gunmen and one government official.
