Manchester City are on the verge of signing centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov from Lens, following reports that the Ligue 1 side have agreed on a £32 million deal with the Premier League champions.

Personal terms are not expected to pose any difficulties, and the 20-year-old Uzbek defender is set to become both the most expensive player ever sold from Uzbekistan and the first from his nation to feature in the Premier League.

Khusanov, who will turn 21 on 29 February, has made 31 senior appearances for Lens, including 24 matches in Ligue 1 and six across three European competitions.

According to his FBref profile, Khusanov is a defensively focused player with exceptional game-reading abilities. He developed at Uzbek club Bunyodkor before making his senior debut in Belarus with Energetik-BGU Minsk.

Already a mainstay for the Uzbekistan national team, Khusanov has earned 18 caps. Sky Sports reports that he is set to sign a four-and-a-half-year contract with Manchester City.
