A small plane crashed into a building in Southern California, killing two and injuring 18 others. The crash occurred near Fullerton Municipal Airport, with parts of the plane causing a fire. Many of the victims were factory workers. This is the second plane crash in the area in two months.

Two people have died, and 18 others have been injured after a small plane crashed into a commercial building in Southern California, according to officials.

The Fullerton Police Department reported that 10 people were taken to the hospital with injuries, while eight others were treated at the scene and released. The crash occurred at 14:15 PST (20:15 GMT) when the single-engine Van's RV-10 aircraft went down, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Details about the crash are scarce, and officials have not confirmed the exact cause. It is unclear whether the two deceased individuals were employees of the building or passengers on the plane.

Authorities are evacuating nearby buildings, urging the public to avoid the crash site. Congressman Lou Correa, who represents the area in Orange County, located about 25 miles (40 km) south of Los Angeles, stated that the building that was struck houses a furniture manufacturing business. He also noted that at least a dozen of the victims are factory workers.

Aerial footage from the scene shows parts of the plane embedded within the building, and the crash ignited a fire that was later extinguished by responding fire crews. Security cameras from a nearby building captured a fiery explosion, as reported by local news outlets.

"People are just shaken over the situation," said witness Mark Anderson in an interview with KRCA-TV. "It was just a large boom, and then one of the people went out and said, 'Oh my gosh, the building's on fire.'"

The crash occurred near Fullerton Municipal Airport, approximately 6 miles (10 kilometers) from Disneyland. Reports suggest the plane was attempting to return to the airport shortly after takeoff.

This is the second plane crash in the area in the last two months. On November 25, another plane crashed into a tree just one block away from the most recent incident, though no major injuries were reported.
