Juventus Women’s First Team claimed an impressive win in both result and significance on Serie A Matchday 13, travelling to Fiorentina and returning with three goals, three points, and a clean sheet.

Sofia Cantore netted two outstanding goals to give the Bianconere a commanding lead, with Barbara Bonansea adding the finishing touch to the triumph in stylish fashion.

MATCH REPORT

The Bianconere began the match by attempting to dominate proceedings. After just nine minutes, they created their first chance following excellent interplay between Amalie Vangsgaard and Sofia Cantore. Cantore timed her return pass perfectly, but the Danish forward could only lift a challenging effort over the bar. Moments later, Hanna Bennison tested Cecilie Fiskerstrand in the Fiorentina goal, forcing her to tip the shot behind for a corner. In the 17th minute, Vangsgaard had another opportunity, but her effort on the turn clipped the top of the crossbar.

Fiorentina looked to counter Juventus’ early pressure. In the 35th minute, Madelen Janogy forced a fine save from Pauline Peyraud-Magnin at her near post. Vangsgaard continued to pose a threat to the Viola defence, creating a few more chances before the half-time whistle, but the Bianconere were unable to convert their dominance into goals. The first half ended goalless.

The second half began in explosive fashion. Within five minutes, Juventus finally broke the deadlock. In the 47th minute, a brilliant counterattack led by Chiara Beccari saw her deliver an exceptional cross-field pass to Sofia Cantore. Wearing the no.9 shirt, Cantore unleashed a thunderous right-footed strike, leaving Fiskerstrand with no chance.

Fiorentina almost equalised immediately. Agnese Bonfantini found herself one-on-one with Peyraud-Magnin just a minute later but squandered the opportunity by firing over the crossbar. As the saying goes, missed chances often come back to haunt teams – especially against a player in Cantore’s form. In the 50th minute, Cantore struck again, this time from outside the area, with an unstoppable shot into the bottom left corner of the Viola goal.

Leading 2-0, Massimiliano Canzi's side managed the game with composure. The introduction of players such as Arianna Caruso and Barbara Bonansea added quality and depth, enabling Juventus to maintain control and create further opportunities on the counterattack as they sought a third goal.

Fiorentina’s greatest threat came in the 83rd minute when Bonfantini tested Peyraud-Magnin with a long-range effort. However, the Juventus goalkeeper reacted brilliantly, pushing the shot over the bar.

In the closing stages, Bonansea sealed the victory in style. Weaving through defenders and leaving the goalkeeper on the ground, she finished a counterattack with aplomb, adding Juventus’ third goal. The Bianconere departed Viola Park with a well-deserved 3-0 win, underscoring their dominance and maintaining their unbeaten record.
