Tina Knowles, mother of Beyoncé, has addressed speculation surrounding her social media activity amid allegations against her son-in-law, Jay-Z.
Tina Knowles Denies Involvement After Alleged Instagram Activity Regarding Jay-Z Allegations
The controversy erupted earlier today after a screenshot began circulating online, claiming that Tina had 'liked' an Instagram post discussing allegations that Jay-Z drugged and raped a 13-year-old girl at a Manhattan house party in 2000.
In response to the claims, Tina took to Instagram to post a statement via the Notes app, clarifying that her account had been hacked.
“I was hacked,” the statement read. “As you all know, I do not play about my family. So if you see something uncharacteristic of me, just know that it is not me!”
She reinforced her position in the post's caption, urging people to stop spreading falsehoods. She also paraphrased a Bible verse, writing, “No weapon formed against my family shall prosper.”
Allegations Against Jay-Z
The allegations against Jay-Z were included in an amended legal complaint filed on 8 December. The rapper is accused of drugging and raping a teenage girl at a Manhattan house party alongside Sean 'Diddy' Combs.
Jay-Z has vehemently denied the allegations, calling them “heinous” and deeply harmful to his family. In a statement shared on his music label Roc Nation's social media page, he expressed his concern over the impact such claims have on families and young people.
“Children should not have to endure such at their young age,” he wrote. “It is unfair to have to try to understand inexplicable degrees of malice meant to destroy families and human spirit.”
The situation has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with Tina Knowles firmly distancing herself from any suggestion of support for the allegations.
