Real Madrid’s team bus was involved in an incident on the M40 motorway following their Champions League match against Liverpool.

The Spanish giants suffered a 2-0 defeat at Anfield on Wednesday, 27 November, and were scheduled to return to Spain today.

Footage circulating on social media shows a bus adorned with Real Madrid’s emblem and branding stationary on the motorway, stuck behind a lorry. The exact location has not been confirmed, but the video indicates the incident occurred on the M40.

The team bus, unveiled just last month, was designed to transport players to and from matches. However, it remains unclear whether any players or staff were on board at the time of the crash.

National Highways confirmed that traffic was halted on the M40 southbound in Warwickshire, between junctions 16 and 15, near Warwick, just across the border from Oxfordshire. Emergency services attended the scene, with delays of up to 45 minutes reported at around 2 pm.

Further updates on the incident and its impact are awaited.
