The president of the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot), Samuel Eto'o, has been banned from attending the national team’s matches for six months after breaching FIFA’s disciplinary regulations, football’s governing body announced on Monday, 30th September.

The former Barcelona striker, who has served as Fecafoot president since 2021, is now prohibited from attending all men's and women's matches, covering various age categories.

“The sanction was imposed in relation to the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup round-of-16 match between Brazil and Cameroon, which took place in Bogotá, Colombia, on 11th September 2024,” FIFA said in an official statement.

FIFA’s disciplinary committee did not provide further details regarding the incidents. However, the statement confirmed that Eto'o was found guilty of “offensive behaviour and violations of the principles of fair play,” alongside “misconduct” involving officials.

This ban comes after the 43-year-old was fined by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) less than three months ago, following an investigation into alleged breaches of its ethical and integrity standards.
