Israeli Airstrikes Kill at Least 70 in Lebanon on Sunday

On Sunday, Israel conducted airstrikes in Lebanon that resulted in the deaths of at least 70 people.

According to a report from AFP, at least 70 individuals have been reported killed and 80 others injured following Israeli air attacks across various regions of Lebanon on Sunday. This information comes from an Anadolu tally that has been confirmed by official sources, including state media and the Health Ministry.

In the Baalbek-Hermel province, Israeli airstrikes resulted in an initial toll of 21 fatalities and 47 injuries. In Sidon, an Israeli airstrike targeted a residential building in the village of Ain El-Delb, leading to the deaths of 24 people and injuring 29 others.

Additionally, Israeli warplanes conducted an airstrike on the town of Joub Jannine in western Bekaa, which resulted in four deaths and four injuries. Tragically, a family of 17 lost their lives in an airstrike that hit the town of Zboud in northern Bekaa, with several members reported missing under the rubble.

In a separate incident, four individuals were killed in three airstrikes targeting a building in the village of Halabta in Bekaa.

Since the onset of the Gaza conflict in October, Hezbollah and Israel have been engaged in ongoing cross-border hostilities. Recently, Israel has intensified its offensive against Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of several senior Hezbollah commanders, including the group's leader, Hassan Nasrallah.

The bombardment across Lebanon has been intense, leading to the deaths of hundreds of civilians and displacing tens of thousands. Lebanon's Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, has stated that Israel's escalating attacks may have resulted in the displacement of up to one million people.
