De Rossi, a former captain of Roma, was appointed in January to replace José Mourinho. His performance in the latter half of last season earned him a contract extension in June through to the 2026-27 season.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to Daniele, who will always be welcome at the Giallorossi club, for his passionate and dedicated work over recent months.”
Roma added that further communication regarding the team’s technical guidance would be announced in due course.
