Daniel Dubois has pledged to make Anthony Joshua 'quit' when they clash in their world heavyweight title fight on Saturday.

Newly-crowned IBF champion Dubois will defend his title in front of 96,000 spectators at Wembley Stadium, as Joshua aims to become a three-time heavyweight world champion.

The Londoner claimed his first major world title with a resounding victory over Filip Hrgovic in June, having also secured an impressive last-minute knockout win against Jarrell Miller in December.

Dubois has previously been labelled a 'quitter' by some of the sport's biggest names, after taking a knee in his 2020 defeat to Joe Joyce. His resolve was once again questioned following his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk last year.

However, the 27-year-old now believes he can turn the tables on Joshua and break the two-time world champion on boxing’s grandest stage.

"I've got to make him quit, break him down. That’s my mindset going into this – making him quit, breaking him,” Dubois told Sky Sports. "I believe I can."

Victories over Miller and Hrgovic have helped Dubois shed the 'quitter' label, with the boxer eager to set the record straight once and for all against Joshua.

“I’m turning things around at this stage of my career. I’ve been through ups and downs, and now I’m turning it around," Dubois said.

"I’m going to enjoy the moment, let all the talking be done, and let all the statements be made. I’m in a good place right now, and I’m ready to fight.”

Tensions flared between the heavyweight contenders during a televised segment in June, when Dubois challenged Joshua to “go right now.”

Joshua was quick to stand up, accusing Dubois of disrespecting him and threatening to "smash a chair" over his opponent’s head, before security intervened.

The two fighters faced off once again in the London sunshine on Monday evening, with tensions still evident.

“I looked into his eyes, and I don’t know, I’m so used to it now. It’s part of the game,” Dubois said.

“Of course they’re underestimating me. He’s going to be in for the shock of his life.”
