The Premier League resumes this weekend with Tottenham Hotspur taking on rivals Arsenal on Sunday in the highlight of the weekend’s fixtures.

The Gunners will be aiming to return to winning ways as they make the short journey to The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, having been held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton & Hove Albion before the international break.

Spurs, meanwhile, have accumulated four points from their first three Premier League matches and were defeated 2-1 by Newcastle United in their last outing.

Off the pitch, Arsenal seem to have suffered a transfer setback ahead of the January window.

According to Football Insider, Brentford have no intention of selling Arsenal target Bryan Mbeumo during the upcoming transfer window.

The Frenchman is reported to have attracted interest from both Arsenal and Liverpool, but the report suggests that the Bees are highly unlikely to part with the forward in January.

Mbeumo, 25, has been in excellent form for Thomas Frank’s side over the past 18 months, including during Ivan Toney’s lengthy suspension.

Although Toney has now left Brentford, Mbeumo had already established himself as a key starter for the club.

In total, the attacker has scored 53 goals and provided 42 assists in 203 appearances for the Bees across all competitions, having joined from French side Troyes in the summer of 2019.

The Frenchman has begun this season in spectacular form, netting three times in the Bees’ first three games, including a brace against Southampton in their latest match.

It is also reported that fellow Premier League side Aston Villa are interested in the attacker, who primarily operates on the right flank.

His current contract is set to run until the end of the 2025/26 season, and the report indicates that Brentford intend to retain him until then.
