Manchester United winger Antony is reportedly determined to fight for his place at Old Trafford, having turned down transfers elsewhere that could have offered him more playing time.

In Erik ten Hag’s first summer at United, he pushed hard to bring the Brazilian winger to the Theatre of Dreams. After losing Lisandro Martinez to United earlier in the window, Ajax were reluctant to allow another key player to leave.

However, Antony forced through a move to the Premier League, and a deal was eventually agreed for his £86 million transfer. The forward made an impressive start at Old Trafford but soon lost form and has struggled to display the consistency expected given his price tag.

In 83 appearances for United, Antony has returned only 11 goals and five assists, a record that has led to speculation about his future. According to the Daily Mirror, clubs from Brazil, Spain, and Turkey have all made enquiries regarding the 24-year-old’s availability, but his camp has insisted that he is intent on staying to fight for his place at Manchester United.

This position is clear as MEN Sport understands United are looking to bring in a new winger next summer. Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze is among the players on United’s radar.

Eze has a £68 million release clause in his contract, which could be triggered in 2025. To facilitate the signing of the Englishman, United may need to offload a player, with Antony viewed as a potential candidate.

Despite Jadon Sancho’s departure on deadline day, Antony has made just one appearance for United so far this season, coming on in the final minute of the defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.
