Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah appears to be in excellent shape just days after helping the Reds secure a 3-0 victory over rivals Manchester United.

The Egyptian international was on the scoresheet for the third consecutive game last Sunday as Arne Slot’s side triumphed over United at Old Trafford. Salah scored Liverpool’s third goal with a sublime first-time finish that beat André Onana.

He also registered two assists against United, delivering an excellent cross into the path of Luis Díaz, who headed Liverpool into the lead. Later in the first half, he turned provider once more for Díaz, threading the ball into his path before the Colombian fired home past Onana.

The 32-year-old is in fine form at present and appears to be in peak condition following his impressive performance against United. Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Salah posted a story of himself returning to the gym, showcasing his shredded physique to his 62.3 million followers.

The Egyptian is in the final year of his contract at Anfield and could be set to leave at the end of the season if the Reds are unable to agree on an extension with Salah. The Liverpool star, who has achieved everything there is to win in club football on Merseyside, admitted on Sunday that he is in his "last year" with the Reds during an interview with Sky Sports after the win over United.

“As you know, it’s my last year at the club,” Salah said. “I just want to enjoy it and not think about it. I feel I’m free to play football, and we’ll see what happens next year.”

He added: “I was coming to the game and thought, it could be the last time [coming to Old Trafford]. Nobody has talked to me yet about contracts, so I’m just playing my last season, and we’ll see at the end of the season. But so far, yes, my last game here with Liverpool.”

Liverpool.com says: “Salah’s performances this season might compel Liverpool to offer him a new deal, as frankly, the Egyptian is still one of the best in the world. While he may have dropped off slightly last term following the Africa Cup of Nations, Salah appears to be back to his best this season. Liverpool cannot afford to lose him next summer if he continues to perform at this level.”
