Jake Quickenden announced on Sunday that he and his wife Sophie are expecting their second child after 'a long time of trying'.

The couple, who wed in 2022, already share a three-year-old son, Leo, as well as Sophie’s son, Freddie, from a previous relationship.

Taking to Instagram, the former X Factor star, 35, shared an emotional montage of the family, including himself, learning the happy news.

Overcome with emotion, Jake wiped tears from his eyes when he was told, while a pregnant Sophie presented their shocked sons with an ultrasound scan.

The ex I’m A Celeb campmate captioned the post: ‘WE HAVE NEWS... soon to be five. We can finally let you know, after a long time trying, we are going to bring another bundle of joy into the world.

‘We are super excited. Can’t wait to live off two hours’ sleep again. Have a lovely Sunday.’

Fans and famous friends rushed to the comments section to send their congratulations, with Vicky Pattison saying: ‘Best news ever, congratulations guys’.

Michelle Visage added: ‘Congrats, you gorgeous lot’ and Coleen Nolan gushed: ‘OMG congrats... so happy for you’.

Ulrika Jonsson typed: ‘Wow!! I’m so happy for you all!!!’ while H from Steps said: ‘Congratulations!’.

Jake previously revealed he had been targeted by vicious trolls who criticised the way he fathers his youngest child, Leo.

The reality star said he finds it hard not to let the cruel comments influence his mental health, as he appeared on Loose Women with his son on his knee.

He said that the comments affect him more because they are about his son, admitting that he often finds himself arguing back with the trolls.

He explained: ‘When you do have a platform, unfortunately you’re always going to get it, you’re going to get people questioning your decisions, you’re going to get people questioning the way you father.

‘It’s quite upsetting, I’m starting to get my head around it a little bit more because I always feel like if you meet me and you know me, then you wouldn’t say it. So why do I let these people affect me when they don’t know me?

‘I argue and I let it affect my mental health and it gets me down. Trolls always pick on the things they know will hurt you, it affects you more when it’s your child.’

The dedicated father also said that Leo has ‘changed my life’ as he gushingly described him as ‘the most amazing little boy’.

Jake got engaged to his girlfriend Sophie in August 2021 while they were holidaying with their children in Rhodes, Greece.
