According to a local official, the first attack was perpetrated by a woman.

At least 30 people have lost their lives, and over 100 others were injured in Nigeria following multiple suicide bombings that occurred across various locations over the weekend, as reported by sources on Sunday.

According to the Emir of Gwoza, Alhaji Mohammed Shehu Timta, the first attack took place on Saturday, carried out by an unidentified woman who entered a wedding reception with two children and detonated her Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), resulting in numerous casualties.

"The first suicide attack was orchestrated by an unidentified woman who infiltrated a wedding reception of a well-known young man in Gwoza; she detonated her Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), killing herself and many others," the Emir stated.

He continued, "Just minutes later, another suicide bomber infiltrated a nearby burial ceremony and detonated improvised explosive devices. And as I speak to you now, a third explosion has occurred with more casualties."

President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria strongly denounced the attacks, labeling them as desperate acts of terrorism that reflect the pressure mounted against terrorists and the successes achieved in thwarting their offensive capabilities. Tinubu assured citizens that his administration is taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and promised to bring those responsible to justice.

As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the bombings.
