Environment Minister Meets Representatives of Key US Think Tanks

The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, met on Monday with representatives of several think tank organisations in the United States who have held critical positions in successive US governments. This meeting took place on the sidelines of their participation in the Qatar Economic Forum (QEF), which is scheduled to commence on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the US delegation was briefed on Qatar-backed efforts and vision regarding climate change issues at regional and global levels, reflecting the State of Qatar's international commitments.

Additionally, discussions covered various national objectives aimed at achieving sustainable development. These include the adoption of clean energy, the optimal utilisation of water resources, improving air quality, increasing green spaces, and hosting the 2022 Qatar World Cup as the first carbon-neutral tournament in the history of football's World Cup championships.
