Warrington RUFC Under-15s' Performance Against Touring Irish Team

In their last match before the Lancashire Cup Final, Warrington RUFC's under-15s faced a tough challenge against a visiting Irish team. Belfast Harlequins under-15s provided strong opposition in a match officiated by an international-level referee. Despite some initial back-and-forth, Warrington emerged victorious with a final score of 57-19.

The game started with Ollie Orgill showcasing his skills with a well-executed show-and-go to open the scoring. However, the tourists responded by scoring in the corner after a series of penalties. The contest remained intense, with Fraser Savage adding to Warrington's tally before Quins found the tryline again.

Nevertheless, Warrington seized control, with Freddie Hartill and Paddy Shephard crossing the whitewash. Although Quins managed another try, Hartill's second kept Warrington in the lead. Tyreece Swinton, Harry Bethel-Walkington, and Sam Laird further extended Warrington's advantage with additional tries.

"Solid defense lays the foundation for our game, but when we work as a cohesive unit and stick to our formations, we can play an attractive brand of rugby," remarked Johnny Calendar, the team's forwards coach. "I was particularly pleased with the skill and decision-making displayed today. The players quickly identified gaps in Belfast's defense, adapting their strategy to exploit them and score some excellent tries."

Both the under-15s and under-14s will compete in their respective Lancashire Cup Finals at Leigh RUFC on Sunday.
