The Block 2024 faces drama as popular cast member Foreman Keith steps back from regular appearances due to family commitments. Meanwhile, the show has also seen early exits from contestants, with Team Blue reportedly leaving unexpectedly during filming. The season promises further intrigue as new challenges arise for remaining contestants.

The latest season of The Block 2024 has encountered more drama as a popular cast member steps away from the series.

Foreman Keith, real name Keith Schleiger, has disclosed that he will be making 'irregular appearances' on the new season due to family reasons, as reported by the Herald Sun.

"A Nine spokesperson told the publication: 'With The Block shooting on Phillip Island this year, Keith had to step back from his full-time duties because of his commitment to raising his two daughters.'"

"'He couldn't come to the island for three months straight. It was literally a bridge too far,' the spokesperson continued. 'But Block fans will be pleased to hear that he has been involved with filming for our 20th season as a special guest.'"

This news follows reports that the show has lost two contestants early in the season.

While the new series of the Channel Nine show is yet to air, photos from a promotional shoot have all but confirmed the departure of Team Blue, Jesse and Paige.

A source told Yahoo Lifestyle that producers were left surprised by their exit.

"The production crew had noted there had been more tears with Jesse and Paige... but the 'welfare team' felt that their behaviour was pretty standard with every season up until this point," they revealed.

"None of the other teams had noticed anything too unusual, and everyone was left gobsmacked when the Western Australian team left Phillip Island," the insider added.

The insider also disclosed that the new members of the Blue Team, Maddie and Charlotte, were displeased with the progress made on their assigned house.

This led to further drama, forcing them to decide whether to stick with the old team's seaside escape theme or start over.

"Maddie and Charlotte are hoping they will be allowed to redo the rooms that now look out of place, but a decision on how that might happen is still unconfirmed," the insider said.

"No one has been able to confirm what the plan will be with these two themes clashing, and in all honesty, something will need to be done if this house has a hope in hell of winning."

Earlier this month, the Channel Nine reality show was rocked by rumours that a team had already left two weeks into filming.

Behind-the-scenes pictures from a cast photoshoot at Phillip Island on April 8th strongly suggest this is true, as the Blue team - consisting of an athletic male and glamorous blonde woman - are nowhere to be seen.

The lively pictures show the newly-added Pink team, comprising two stunning young women in their late 20s - one blonde and one brunette.

The beloved renovation series is set to make a triumphant return to TV screens later this year, marking two decades since its initial premiere.

Nine has confirmed that only five teams will be competing to convert five properties at the former Island Cove Villas on Phillip Island.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal that a Channel Nine-owned company purchased Island Cove Villas for a whopping $9.5 million.
