FIFA Unveils 2025 Club World Cup Plans with $1B Prize and Record Revenue Goals

The 75th FIFA Congress convened in Asuncion, marking the first time FIFA’s supreme legislative body has held its meeting in Paraguay. During the session, FIFA President Gianni Infantino highlighted the transformative potential of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, emphasizing the significant impact the tournament is set to have on global football.
Scheduled to begin on 14th June in Miami, the newly structured FIFA Club World Cup will feature 32 participating clubs competing for a total prize pool of USD 1 billion. In addition to this, a solidarity fund amounting to USD 250 million has been established for clubs that are not participating, ensuring that the positive effects of the tournament extend beyond the competition itself and continue to be felt long after the final match, which is set for 13th July.
The FIFA Club World Cup is also expected to be instrumental in helping FIFA achieve a record-breaking revenue of USD 13 billion for the 2023–2026 financial cycle. This projection is reflected in both the detailed 2026 budget and the revised budget for the entire 2023–2026 cycle. These financial plans, along with FIFA’s financial statements for 2024, were reviewed and officially approved by the FIFA Congress.
