Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze is reportedly keen to leave Selhurst Park during the upcoming summer transfer window, with Aston Villa named among the clubs interested in securing his signature. Any suitor, however, will need to meet his £68 million release clause.
Eberechi Eze's £68m Release Clause Revealed Amid Aston Villa Interest

The 26-year-old has enjoyed a standout season under Oliver Glasner, playing a pivotal role in guiding Palace to the FA Cup Final, where they are set to face Manchester City at Wembley. Notably, Eze scored the opening goal in the semi-final as Palace secured a convincing 3–0 win over Aston Villa.
Since joining Palace from Queens Park Rangers in 2020 for £17 million, Eze has recorded 64 goal contributions in 163 appearances. This campaign has been particularly fruitful, with the England international notching 10 goals and 11 assists in 39 matches.
Reports suggest Eze is eager to play European football next season—something Crystal Palace could still offer should they win the FA Cup. Otherwise, a move to a club already competing on the European stage may be on the cards.
Palace chairman Steve Parish recently reflected on the surprising lack of interest in Eze ahead of the current season, despite his evident talent.
“I was really worried from a club point of view about losing Michael [Olise] and Ebbs [Eze] in the same window,” Parish admitted last summer. “We didn’t have in Ebbs the interest I thought we would. I was astounded. Genuinely astounded. I mean, the guy’s just an outstanding footballer, an outstanding person.”
With two years remaining on his contract and his stock continuing to rise, Eze could be one of the most sought after talents in the upcoming transfer window.
