Celtic forward Daizen Maeda has been named PFA Scotland Player of the Year, while Falkirk’s John McGlynn has claimed the Manager of the Year award for a second consecutive season.

Japan international Maeda, 27, has enjoyed a sensational campaign with the Scottish Premiership champions, netting 33 goals and providing 12 assists.

It marks the ninth occasion in the past 11 years that a Celtic player has secured the prestigious accolade.

Meanwhile, McGlynn has guided Falkirk back to the top flight for the first time in 15 years, achieving back-to-back title wins.

The 63-year-old has now won the managerial honour three times, having first received it in 2011 during his tenure at Raith Rovers.

Celtic’s Brendan Rodgers and Hibernian’s David Gray were also shortlisted for the managerial award.

In the player category, Maeda edged out his Celtic team-mates Callum McGregor and Nicolas Kühn, along with Dundee striker Simon Murray, following votes cast by players across all SPFL divisions.

Motherwell’s 18-year-old midfielder Lennon Miller was voted Young Player of the Year.

Also nominated in the youth category were James Wilson of Hearts, Arne Engels of Celtic, and Rangers’ Hamza Igamane.
