Harry Kane’s long wait for his first career trophy continues after Bayern Munich conceded a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser in their clash with RB Leipzig.
Heartbreak for Harry Kane as Bayern Munich Concede 94th-Minute Equaliser Against RB Leipzig

Suspended for the fixture, Kane watched from the stands at the Red Bull Arena as Bayern aimed to seal the Bundesliga title for the first time since his arrival.
However, their title hopes took an early hit when Leipzig surged into a 2–0 lead in the first half through goals from Benjamin Šeško and Lukas Klostermann.
Following the interval, Bayern responded with renewed intensity and levelled the match with two goals in as many minutes from former Premier League players Eric Dier and Michael Olise.
Kane looked on anxiously as his side pushed for a winner and, in the 83rd minute, it seemed as though that decisive goal had arrived when Leroy Sané struck powerfully into the Leipzig net.
Yet the celebrations were premature.
As the England captain made his way pitchside in anticipation of the final whistle, Leipzig forward Yussuf Poulsen dashed Bayern’s hopes with a deft chip in the 94th minute, leaving goalkeeper Jonas Urbig grounded and Kane visibly stunned.
Footage from the match captured Kane’s reaction as he stood in disbelief while Leipzig equalised with the final kick of the game.
Despite the disappointment, Bayern could still secure the Bundesliga title without kicking another ball—if second-placed Bayer Leverkusen fail to defeat Freiburg in their match tomorrow.
Reflecting on the suspension that ruled him out of the Leipzig clash, Kane admitted he was frustrated to be absent.
“Crazy, crazy decision! It’s kind of my story that I’ll miss the Leipzig game. But no worries, I’ll celebrate more than anyone else,” he said.
Although sidelined for this key match, few would question Kane’s influence on Bayern’s campaign.
In 27 starts and two substitute appearances in the Bundesliga, the England striker has notched 24 goals and supplied seven assists.
Kane is set to return for Bayern’s next league fixture against Borussia Mönchengladbach next Saturday.
The former Tottenham Hotspur talisman has famously endured a trophyless career despite an abundance of individual honours. His 2023 summer move to Germany was widely expected to end that drought, with Bayern having claimed ten successive Bundesliga titles prior to last season.
However, Bayern were surprisingly dethroned last term by Bayer Leverkusen, who completed an unbeaten league campaign to clinch the championship.
