Türkiye condemns Kashmir tourist attack, offers condolences; 26 killed, no group has claimed responsibility.

Türkiye has expressed its condolences to the families of the victims who lost their lives in an attack carried out by gunmen targeting tourists in Indian-administered Kashmir. The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that they are deeply saddened by the loss of many lives and the injuries sustained by others during the terrorist attack that targeted civilians in the Pahalgam region of Jammu and Kashmir.

The ministry condemned the attack, describing it as heinous, and extended condolences to the families of those who died, while wishing a swift recovery to those injured.

Gunmen had opened fire on tourists in Pahalgam, a region located approximately 90 kilometres by road from the city of Srinagar, resulting in at least 26 fatalities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the act, referring to it as a heinous crime, and assured the public that the perpetrators would be brought to justice. As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
