Manchester United have reportedly reached a basic agreement with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen ahead of the summer transfer window, according to sources in Italy.
Manchester United ‘Reach Basic Agreement’ to Sign £64m Chelsea Transfer Target Victor Osimhen

The Nigeria international is currently enjoying a prolific loan spell with Turkish giants Galatasaray, where he has scored 30 goals in 35 appearances this season.
Osimhen is on course to complete a domestic double, as Galatasaray lead the Turkish Super Lig by five points over Fenerbahçe and are set to face either Trabzonspor or Göztepe in next month’s Turkish Cup final.
The 26-year-old came close to joining Chelsea during the latter stages of last summer’s transfer window, but a deal with Napoli failed to materialise. Manchester United were also monitoring his situation at the time, even before it became apparent that he would be departing Serie A.
According to Tuttosport, United have maintained their interest and are now actively working on a potential move for the upcoming window. The report suggests that United have reached a basic agreement with Osimhen regarding personal terms, though no formal agreement has been reached with Napoli over a transfer fee.
Osimhen’s contract with Napoli includes a release clause of €75 million (£64.2 million), which may only be activated by clubs outside of Italy’s top flight.
When asked about his future last month, Osimhen said:
“I play for one of the best teams in Turkey and in the world.
I love and respect this club deeply. I am very happy to be here, and so is my family—we live a settled life.
For me, the club’s success is more important than any transfer.”
Galatasaray are eager to retain Osimhen on a permanent basis but acknowledge the stiff competition from other top European clubs.
During a press conference in March, Galatasaray vice-president Abdullah Kavukcu stated:
“Osimhen will inform us of his decision in April. At present, five of the biggest clubs in the world have expressed their interest in him.
His arrival was a dream fulfilled. He stayed with us in January despite speculation because of his love for the club. Today, he is the player every rival wants.”
