Academy forward Ceadach O’Neill has signed his first professional contract with Arsenal.
Ceadach O’Neill Signs First Professional Contract with Arsenal

The 17-year-old finalised the deal at the Sobha Realty Training Centre last week, marking a significant milestone in his young career.
Speaking after signing, O’Neill said: “I’m delighted to have signed my first professional contract. Having moved to Arsenal from Linfield earlier this year, I knew it would be a challenge settling in, but I feel I’ve adapted well.
“My first game was away to West Ham, and I managed to score twice, so it was a great start to the season. I believe a winger should always have the ability to score goals, so that’s something I’m continuing to work on and improve.”
O’Neill has already represented Northern Ireland at youth level and reflected on the pride he feels pulling on the national shirt.
“I’ve been playing for Northern Ireland for the past four or five years, and I’ve made some really good friends through it. I genuinely enjoy every opportunity I get to represent my country.”
In a previous Young Gun interview, O’Neill spoke about the players who inspired him as a child, revealing his admiration for former Arsenal stars Alexis Sánchez and Mesut Özil — a connection rooted in his family’s loyalty to the club.
“My dad has always supported Arsenal, so I naturally grew up supporting them too,” he explained. “I loved watching Alexis Sánchez and Mesut Özil when I was younger — they were incredible players, and I really enjoyed following them.”
During his time at Arsenal, O’Neill has already had the opportunity to train alongside Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad — a surreal experience for the young forward.
“It’s always a special feeling to share a pitch with the first-team players, especially considering I grew up watching many of them on television back home in Ireland. I’ve really enjoyed the chance to learn from them,” he added.
Looking ahead, O’Neill is determined to finish the season on a high.
“My aim is to finish the season strongly — to keep scoring goals, providing assists, and carrying that momentum into next season.”
