Nigeria: TCN Announces Arrest of Suspected Vandals in Enugu

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced the arrest of three individuals suspected of vandalizing power line installations in Agbogugu, Enugu State.
In an official statement released on Thursday, TCN’s spokesperson, Ndidi Mbah, disclosed that the suspects were apprehended on March 24 through a collaborative effort between community members and law enforcement agencies.
According to Mbah, the suspects were initially taken into custody at the Agbogugu Police Station in Ozalla. Following preliminary investigations, they were transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further interrogation. After their first court appearance, the suspects were remanded in prison pending further legal proceedings.
“TCN officials are working closely with the police to ensure that the vandals are prosecuted and brought to justice,” the statement read. “This incident underscores the critical role of community vigilance and cooperation with security agencies in the fight against vandalism.”
Mbah called on host communities to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to security operatives or the nearest TCN office.
“By working together, we can safeguard our communities and ensure the stability of the nation’s power transmission network,” she emphasized. “Quick reporting of any unusual activities will significantly aid in preventing similar acts of sabotage and ensuring that offenders face the full weight of the law.”
